Advancing Spiritual Care Through Research

2018 CRSI concludes in Boston

The 2018 Chaplaincy Research Summer Institute concluded at Boston University School of Theology last week. The Institute welcomed over two dozen participants who not only arrived but, more importantly, departed eager to get started on research of their own.

Institute attendees were especially enthusiastic about establishing an alumni/alumnae community. “This is a fantastic indicator of what Transforming Chaplaincy is helping achieve in the profession,” said George Fitchett, TC Co-Director. With the guidance of CRSI faculty member Annelieke Damen, Communications Director Michael Skaggs is currently organizing effective methods for Institute attendees to communicate and collaborate into the future. “We have a real opportunity to foster another great cohort of research-literate chaplains,” he said, “and Transforming Chaplaincy is happy to do everything it can to bring chaplains, researchers, and educators together.”
