Brisbane Declaration: Culturally Sensitive Critical Care Nursing

The Brisbane Declaration was developed by a working group on behalf of WFCCN. Its key principles were approved at the WFCCN/ACCCN World Congress in Brisbane, Australia on 23 April 2016; the Declaration was approved by the WFCCN Board of Directors on 10 October 2016. The Declaration provides guidelines for culturally sensitive critical care nursing that are based on universal principles of human rights. The Declaration may be adapted to meet the health care policy and education requirements of all critical care nurses, in any critical care unit, within any healthcare facility, regardless of geographical, political or social jurisdiction.
