Welcome to Transforming Chaplaincy!

Chaplain Partners:

Yes, chaplaincy is in our name, and we are fierce advocates for the spiritual care offered alongside each of our interprofessional partners.

Chaplains:

We hope the following information strengthens your work.

Transforming Chaplaincy’s Mission:

To promote evidence-based spiritual care and integrate research into professional practice and education by fostering a culture of inquiry.

Promotion: Transforming Chaplaincy works to get the word out about new data related to spiritual care through our monthly newsletter. The evidence continues to strengthen toward spiritual care within serious illness care. These data include a randomized trial in the ICU care space showing early intervention chaplaincy care is associated with increased spiritual well-being and decreased anxiety.

Integration: We would love for you to join our interprofessional community platform, Hospice-Palliative Spiritual Care Research Network. It’s free and takes 1 minute to join with this link. You don’t have to be a researcher, only someone who cares about how the evidence can inform your work. Transforming Chaplaincy also has strong partnerships with initiatives for your consideration like the Interprofessional Spiritual Care Education Curriculum.

Education: TC also hosts events to get the word out about the evidence base and how it relates to our shared interprofessional spiritual care. We’d love to have you join us for our free webinar on February 28, Attending to the Existential Experience: Research and Practical Tips for Palliative Care Clinicians. Can’t make it? No worries. Our webinar recordings over the last five years are also free and easy to access.
