POSITION DESCRIPTION: Clinical Program Manager, Pastoral Care Research at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, the Number 2 Pediatric Medical Center in the USA, is recruiting a Clinical Program Manager for our Pastoral Care Research Program. This position will be 75% Pastoral Care Research and 25% Clinical Chaplaincy. Applicants must have at least a Master’s Degree focused on research competence, a Master’s Degree in Religion/Theology or a related field, 5 years chaplaincy experience, three years leadership experience in chaplaincy, and 2 years leadership experience in research in an academic medical center. The preferred applicant will have experience guiding a research program. The purpose of this position is to work with the Sr. Director to guide the Pastoral Care Department in developing research that defines what chaplaincy and bereavement practices help patients and families access their religion/spirituality in ways that contribute to coping and decision-making, and what bereavement practices help families and staff effectively respond to their grief in ways that promote resilience. In addition, our goal is to conduct original research identifying what difference chaplaincy and bereavement interventions make to patients, families, and staff.
